The art of digital watching
The art of Digiscoping consists of joining a digital camera or a digital video camera with a telescope. The telescope becomes a super teleobjective able to capture even objects that are far away. The many advantages of Digiscoping (open diaphragm , focal lengths from 800mm up, work from long distances, crepuscular values, depth of field, etc) make it the ideal activity for photographing nature, well beyond traditional techniques.
We organize some exclusive workshops for our guests during the year to give them the chance to try this extraordinary technique. Of course we asked for the collaboration of leaders in this field: Riccardo Camusso (Italian champion of naturalistic photography in 2008 and 2009) who everyone considers the “father” of this technique and who published various books on Digiscoping; the tools used, and the precious Swarovski Optik telescopes that are known to be the best spektives in the world
Digiscoping course in Tuscany
Our guests will be supplied with all the Swarovski Optik equipment during the workshops. Of course, you may also use your own: almost all cameras or video cameras can be connected to a telescope
For those of you who are experts, you will have the chance to compare the two techniques. The programme foresees an initial technical session – on the field – to test the equipment with the assistance of the experts, followed by some excursions in important areas for this activity.
You will mainly see deer, hares, partridges, water birds, foxes, small rodents, raptors and a variety of animals that live free in our manor. Excursions will be on foot or on our jeeps that will be fully equipped so you can take all the photos you wish. After every excursion, the photos will undergo post-production sessions: we can improve them on the computer with common photography software.
We can also organize personalized excursions to satisfy the needs of all our guests.
