Hotel Barberino del Mugello - Tuscany holidays - Mugello what to see

Three must see attractions in Florence

Just 30 minutes of pleasant journey by car or train, you can reach the city of Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. At the request of many of our guests, we report below three absolutely unmissable attractions that will make your stay special.

The first destination to pin down on your itinerary is the Uffizi Gallery. Built from a project by Giorgio Vasari between 1560 and 1580, it is one of the most famous museums in the world for the priceless works inside it. The masterpieces - among others - by Giotto, Piero della Francesca, Botticelli, Leonardo, Raffaello, Michelangelo and Caravaggio dress every room of incredible splendor.

In the historic center is the Ponte Vecchio, one of the most famous symbols of Florence in the world since its medieval origins. Crossed by the raised "Vasari corridor", it was built by Vasari to connect Palazzo Vecchio (then as today the administrative center of the city) with Palazzo Pitti, once home to the Medici family. The two sides of the bridge are adorned with antique jewelers with precious gems able to enchant anyone.

The Museo dell'Opera del Duomo completes the picture of things to absolutely in see Florence. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with the Baptistery and Giotto's Bell Tower constitute a masterpiece of rare beauty and attract, every year, thousands of tourists, enraptured by such an architectural jewel.

Do you want to enjoy the wonders of Florence but avoid long waiting times? Contact the Reception and book the skip-the-line tickets.
